Inspired by insomnia and the desire for a midnight go-to, Verso is a bookstore for night owls.
Social nightlife opportunities in cities are abundant, but there are fewer options for those who prefer a place of quiet when they’re out late. After living in a city where all the coffee shops close at 6 PM, I’ve come to understand that desire for a place to go on a deeply personal level.
Verso fills that gap, with hours that begin in the evening and extend until the early morning. The store includes a coffee and cocktail bar with an extensive seating area for late-night readers, a menu inspired by book terminology, and the chance to just sit and be.
This isn’t your average, dusty book shop.
Verso combines the cozy warmth of a library with contemporary elegance. As a result, the identity mixes a bit of the traditional with the unexpected, tying abstracted patterns of book pages and bright accent colors with a serif wordmark and rule lines.
Contemporary, yet cozy.
The interior of the shop takes a page from (get it?) cozy bookshops without feeling antiquated. Think warm lighting, large wooden shelves, and comfy chairs. Sit back, relax, and read.
